The life of the minister is to be an example for others. First and Second Timothy teach us many principles which must be adhered to if the servant of God is going to set the example. When you realize the impact of I Timothy 4: 16,

"Take heed unto yourself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this you shall both save yourself and those that hear you,”

You see there can be no room for compromise in the lifestyle of the minister.

It is for this reason we will establish principles and policies which must be followed if you are going to be a student of Faith Bible College. Your personal beliefs on the validity of these principles may differ from ours, however, while you are associated with Faith Bible College, we insist you observe them.

Family. God has established the family as His plan for this earth. He has so honored it that the Church Universal is patterned after the same structure. Therefore, all married students will be required to provide adequately for the needs of their family: spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially. Both the school and church leadership staff will be available at any time to assist a student who Is having a problem In this, or any area. Family problems which cannot be resolved will be dealt with on the basis that the family is of more importance than the school ministry. It is our desire to deal openly with this issue and to put an end to the devil's devices before they become a serious problem.

You and your family are important to us because you are valuable to the Lord. Your commitment to your family's needs, and the information which you provide in your application, will guide us should any problems in this area arise.

Job. Closely related to family is the student's job. Students will need to have employment which will not interfere with their school courses, yet will provide an adequate salary for the needs of their family. Students must be available for Faith Bible College classes during the following hours:

Mondays 6:30 PM – 9:20 PM

A job which would prevent you from attending would also hinder you from fulfilling the requirements of the courses. The school is to be taken as a full-on commitment, and availability to observe the requirements is an integral part of the school curriculum.

Transportation. It is the responsibility of each student to provide their own transportation to and from school.

Church. All minister-students of FBC must have faithful church attendance at Desert Valley Church of Scottsdale (DVC) or your home church. If your home church is other than DVC, regular communication with your Pastor will take place during your year of instruction. In addition, we believe the Local Church is of vital importance in the spiritual development of every person in the Body of Christ. You need the Local Church not only as a place of instruction, but for edification, exhortation, and comfort.

Personal Habits. It is not our purpose to dictate what a person can or cannot do as a Christian. However, we do insist that as a minister, you live a life consistent with the teaching of scripture and does not compromise your testimony of the life changing power of Jesus Christ.

We expect all Faith Bible College students to “keep their body under subjection” from all illegal acts and immoral habits. Any use of illegal drugs or abusive substances will not be tolerated. Students must also refrain from any type of immoral, extramarital, permissive, or homosexual activity.

It is important your attitude reflects that of a minister of God’s word. Therefore, there should be no place in your life for rebellion, murmuring, strife, envy, malicious speech, or profane and abusive language. We expect every student to fulfill, to the best of their ability, all the policies established by the administration of Faith Bible College and the requirements of each instructor in the school faculty. The failure of any student to correct any error in the above mentioned areas will be grounds for dismissal. However, we will make every attempt to help any student overcome a potential problem, and we plan to be successful.
